what do you do if a dog with vicious intentions is running towards you?
probably seen as a silly question i know, but i was thinking one day about when i met these two friendly dogs, they came trotting up to me and the owner, who was walking them, told me not to be afraid of them because they were big softies. I’m not scared of dogs, but i was once walking my dog, who is all bark no bite (unless it is an unfriendly plumber who is shouting at my family members and waving food under my dog’s nose) and my dog got mauled by a huskie and a cross breed who was slightly smaller than my dog. (i have a big dog). i couldn’t press charges because i hadn’t been harmed and my dog hadn’t been killed.
but my actual question is, what do you do if you know that a dog approaching you has vicious intentions? because if you’re swimming with sharks then you curl up into a ball, and with horses you lie on the floor, but what about dogs??
this is out of curiosity.
i just watched it’s me or the dog tonight and this is what victoria stillwell said. To protect yourself from a vicious dog:
1) turn your body to the side of the dog (so one of your hips are aligned With he dogs head)
2) fold your arms
3) Don’t make eye contact
4) stand very still and stay calm
5) if you get bitten or attacked, curl up into a ball, and cover your head with your arms.
I don’t know what to do to protect your dog, but I guess just try to keep him calm and still also. I hope I helped!
